Wow, the parallel you draw between 'It’s Scotland’s Oil' and 'It’s Scotland’s AI' realy stood out to me; it's a powerful and introspective way to reframe resource nationalism for our interconnected digital era. How would an export tariff for AI, especially on data or models, realistically funtion without stifling the kind of global open-source collaboration that drives so much innovation in the field?

Essentially as selfish as any right wing Brit who says we “should look after our own first”. We’ve been subsidised for most of the life of the Union, which we joined after a home made financial catastrophe, trying to colonise and exploit Panama.

Every nation state uses comparative advantage to benefit its citizens and companies. Look at the leg up the UK just gave Roll-Royce on SMRs in Wales, despite them having no commercial nuclear experience. What’s wrong with Scotland helping our own?

Scotland isn’t discriminated within the Union but we are forgotten. The English regions fight like dogs for their industry and jobs, we need to do the same. This performative parliament called Holyrood isn’t up to the job.
